Waynetown, Dec 1 - Thomas I. Livengood prominent retired farmer and Wayne township's oldest resident died at 4 o'clock this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. T.A. Parker half a mile east of Waynetown on St Rd. 34. Mr. Livengood a lifelong resident of Montgomery and Fountain counties had been in failing health for several months but became seriously ill only two weeks ago. A complication of diseases attendant upon old age caused his death. The well known retired farmer was born Feb 1, 1840 in Jackson Twp, Fountain County, the son of Thomas and Eva Shuler Livengood. He was married 3 times, first to Elinor Ingersoll. At the time of the marriage, the couple settled on a farm four miles southwest of Waynetown where Mr. Livengood lived as long as he was able to operate the farm. There, Mrs. Livengood died in 1866. He later was married Oct 1, 1871 to Martha Lucinda Young, who died Nov 8, 1921, only a little more than a month after the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Mr. Livengood was again married Dec 1, 1924 to Mrs. Rhoda Wade, but she died the following year on March 13. Mr. Livengood was a member of the Myers Lutheran Church near Wallace. He had lived in Wayne Twp for the past 59 years, retiring as a famrer more than 10 years ago. Since that time, he has lived with sons and daughters in and around Waynetown. Survivors include 3 daughters, Mrs. TA Parker at whose home he died; Mrs. Hanma? Stockdale of Waynetown; and Mrs. WF Parker of Crawfordsville; two sons Guy V. Livengood of Guy V. Livengood of Waynetown; trustee of Wayne Twp; and Verne Livengood, cashier of the Citizens National Bank at Crawfordsville; 7 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren, a half sister, Mrs. Elmina Ingersoll of Waynetown and a half-brother, Alfred Livengood of Crawfordsville. A short private service for members of the family will be held at 12:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the TA Parker home near Waynetown. The body will then be taken to the Waynetown Chrisitan Church where it will lie in state from 1 until 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Services will be held at 2 o'clock at the church, with Rev. JH Wilson pastor of the First Christian Church at Crawfordsville in charge. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic cemetery. - typed by kbz

Waynetown Dec 3 - A large concourse of friends and relatives nearly filled the Waynetown Christian Chur ch this afternoon as impressive funeral services were held for Thoms I. Livengood, 95, well known retired farmer and Wayne Township's oldest reside nt. The rites were held at 2:30 o'clock in charge of Rev. JH Wilson, past or of the 1st Christian Church at Crawfordsville who used as his subje t, What did he Leave? The pastor frequently referred to the moral and spi ritual legacy left by Mr. Livengood. Private funeral services for membe rs of the family were held at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon at the home of a daughter, Mrs. TA Parker near Waynetown. The body then lay in sta te for an hour preceding the funeral at the Christian Church during which time students and teachers of Waynetown HS accompanied by HM Ingersoll, principal and John W. Ward, county superintendent of schools, entered the church in a body to pay their respets. Local business leadesr also atte nded the services in a body. Mr. Livengood was the father of Guy V. Livengood, trustee of Wayne Twp. The pallbearers included two sons, Guy of ne ar Waynetown and Verne W. Livengood of Crawfordsville; two sons-in-la w, TA Parker of Waynetown and WF Parker of Crawfordsville, and two grandsons-in-law, PS Hauk of Waynetown and Prof. Charles James of Lafayette. Flower bearesr were Mrs. Charles James, of Lafayette; Mrs. Ada Young of Veedersburg; Miss Bertha Huff, Miss Olive Parker and Mrs. Lee shanks of Crawfordsville and Mrs. PE Huak, Mrs. John Robinson, Mrs. Elihu Runyan, Mrs. Forre st Hesler, Mrs. Ray Ingersoll, Mrs. Henry Moffett and Miss Vada Inlow, a ll of Waynetown. Mr. and Mrs. EE Livengood, Mrs. Ada Myer and Charles Sma ll sang, Rock of Ages and Abide with Me during the services. Burial w as in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.. - typed by kbz
